Dunlop is a well-known name in the motorcycle tire business, and they not only support riders, but their locally-owned dealers as well, creating a circle of support that also incorporates the American worker thanks to their manufacturing facility in Buffalo, New York. In addition to serving as the OEM for the majority of Harley-Davidson models since 1983—tires that are designed and made in the United States—Dunlop hand-inspects every motorcycle tire made in the USA and features tires for on- and off-road bikes made around the world. In the late 1800s, John Boyd Dunlop designed a new type of pneumatic tire, one meant to take the abuse dished out by any surface you can ride on, over or through. The company continued after he retired, becoming one of the biggest employers in the UK during World War II. Dunlop manufactures motorcycle tires for every application and they are available at motorcycle shops worldwide. |
